As a Technician in our Engineering Design Mechanical Workshop (EDMC), you will be working alongside the best in their discipline and will support world class education and research. You will be responsible for aiding staff and students in the manufacture of bespoke components and equipment for experimental and research purposes that will be used in all environments from beneath the oceans to outer space and everything in between.
To be successful, you will be experienced in precision manufacturing with skill level equivalent to NVQ level 3/HNC/A-Level/City and Guilds or equivalent industrial/professional experience in Mechanical Engineering. You will be able to use your skills and experience to manufacture complex and high precision work, machining components from specialist materials using a range of conventional machine tools such as Centre Lathes and Vertical Mills.
